Biography
2011 (Junior): Johnson appeared in every game and made 16 starts in the midfield. She earned Second Team Capital One Academic All-District VI honors. She was the team’s top play-maker with four assists and finished with six points. She assisted on the team’s final two goals of a 3-3 tie with Truman State. She picked up another two assists within the first 11 minutes of a 3-0 win against Texas A&M-Commerce. She headed home her only goal of the year in a loss at Texas Woman’s.
2010 (Sophomore): Johnson made 16 starts in the midfield and appeared in all 18. She earned First Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI honors. She had an assist in the season opening loss to #10 Metro State. She scored a game-tying goal on a free kick from 20 yards out at St. Edward’s in the 88th minute. Her second goal of the season came in a loss at Northeastern State.
2009 (Freshman): Johnson appeared in 13 games for a squad that went 15-3-3 and was nationally ranked throughout the season. She scored her first career goal in her first career game played, a 2-1 win over Newman.
High School: Johnson was home schooled, but did play on State Runner-Up squad in 2009 and was part of the WDDOA champions from 2005-09.
Personal: Johnson is the daughter of Craig and Tammy Johnson and is studying physical therapy. Her sister, Sarah, is a current teammate at Incarnate Word and she was born on July 16, 1991. She is involved in the Basura Bash, Trail of Lights community service and Morgan’s Wonderland on campus and has been on the dean’s list every semester.
