Biography
2011 (Sophomore): Guenther was the Cardinals’ top scorer with five goals, including a pair of game-winning goals. She earned LSC Honorable Mention honors and was named to the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. She fired a team high 38 shots with 22 coming on goal. She opened the season by scoring two goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-0 win over Washburn. Her third goal of the season came just nine seconds after the second half whistle in a tie against Truman State. She tallied her biggest goal of the season in the 89th minute against Texas Woman’s to cement a 2-1 come from behind victory.
2010 (Freshman): Guenther led the Cardinals with six assists, was second on the team with six goals and tied for the team lead with 18 points. She was named to the Daktronics All-South Central Region First Team and Second Team all-Lone Star Conference. She scored her first career goal in a 2-1 win over #7 Colorado Mines and then tallied a goal and assist in a win over UT-Brownsville a week later. She assisted on the game-winning overtime goals in back-to-back games against Central Oklahoma and at Texas Woman’s. Guenther posted her first multi-goal effort in a win over Eastern New Mexico. She notched a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win at East Central.
High School: Guenther was an all-conference and all-region selection while playing at Johnson High School. She also played volleyball, track and basketball.
Personal: Guenther is the daughter of Buddy and Sandi Guenther and is studying biology. She has a sister, Ashley, and was born on March 19, 1992. She is a proud UIW grounds employee.
