Biography

2012 (Freshman):  Yates made six starts at wide receiver and appeared in all 11 games as a true freshman.  He caught a season long 39-yard pass in the opener against Texas College.  He had four catches in three different games.  He caught four passes for a season high 44 yards against Eastern New Mexico.  He grabbed a 26-yard touchdown pass in a win over Texas A&M-Commerce.  His second touchdown reception was a 14-yard grab against McMurry.

High School:  Yates played football, soccer, baseball and basketball at Clark High School.  He earned second team all-district honors in back-to-back seasons and played in the Gucci Bowl as a sophomore.
 
Personal:  Yates is the son of Rhonda Brocket and is undecided on his field of study.  He has an older brother, Nathan, who played baseball at Iowa.  He was born on June 11, 1993.
