Biography

2011 (Junior):  Willis played the dual role of defensive back and punter.  He was the team’s lead punter for the first five games of the season averaging 38.4 yards per kick on 26 boots.  He had a long of 55 yards and pinned six of 26 inside the 20-yard line.  On defense, he picked up 20 tackles on the season.  He had five tackles and a sack in the season finale at #12 Abilene Christian.
 
2010 (Sophomore):  Willis was a starter in the defensive secondary and also the team’s full-time punter.  He recorded 65 tackles on the season and had a pair of interceptions.  He had 10 tackles in a win at East Central.  He posted a season high 12 tackles in a loss at Angelo State.  He picked off a pass in the win over Central Oklahoma.  He averaged 35.2 yards per punt on the season with a long of 60 yards.  He put 15 of 59 punts inside the 20-yard line.  Three of his four punts against Langston ended up inside the 20-yard line.
 
2009 (Freshman):  Willis contributed as both a defensive back and punter for the team.  He recorded 25 stops on the season with seven coming at Langston.  He was used sparingly as a punter, but averaged 38.0 yards per kick on nine attempts.
 
High School:  Willis earned second team all-district honors at Churchill High School.
 
Personal: Willis is the son of Archie and Ann Willis and has two sisters, Amber and Ebony.  He was born on December 25, 1989 and is studying chemistry.
