Biography

Previous:  Wright played in three games and carried six times for 38 yards (6.3 yards per carry) before suffering a season ending injury in 2010.  In 2009, he played in all 14 games rushing 33 times for 190 yards (5.8 ypa) and three touchdowns.  As a true freshman he served as a speedy back-up at A-back and a primary kick returner.  He had four carries for 37 yards and nine kick returns for 200 yards after having his red-shirt burned following the sixth game of the year.

High School:  Wright rushed for a San Antonio city record of 3,374 yards on 359 carries and scored 45 touchdowns as a senior.  He had at least one carry of 70-plus yards in eight consecutive games.  He played in the Army All-America Bowl and was a first team all-state selection.  In eight career playoff games he produced 2,201 yards and 31 touchdowns.  He was named the Texas Class 5A offensive player of the year as a senior.  He finished his high school career by rushing for 100 or more yards in 25 consecutive games and had a career total of 7,036 career yards and 85 touchdowns.   He was a Parade All-American.

Personal:  Wright is the son of Michael Wright and is studying management.  He has four siblings and was born on November 28, 1989.  His father played football at Alabama State.
