Pulido selected to NCAA Pathway Program

SAN ANTONIO -- University of the Incarnate Word Senior Associate Director for Administration J.R. Pulido has been selected to the NCAA's prestigious Pathway Program for the 2026-27 year.

Pulido is one of 21 administrators selected to the leadership development program, which the NCAA says "is designed to prepare administrators for executive-level leadership roles within intercollegiate athletics."

"I am honored to be selected for the NCAA Pathway Program," Pulido said in a statement. "Being chosen for this prestigious program is both humbling and motivating, and I look forward to learning from some of the best leaders in collegiate athletics.

"I want to thank Athletic Director Dr. Richard Duran and the University of the Incarnate Word for their investment in my growth and for providing opportunities that have prepared me for this experience. I am excited to use what I learn through the Pathway Program to continue serving our student-athletes, athletic department and university at the highest level."

After stops at the University of Kansas, University of Southern California and University of Arkansas, Pulido arrived at UIW in 2021. He serves as an administrator for the Cardinal baseball, football and track and field programs and is also the athletic department's Title IX coordinator.

Pulido will be invited to participate in two education sessions in Indianapolis. The first will be for all honorees on June 21-25, the second for Division I administrators on Oct. 4-9.

The program is then set to conclude at the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics Convention in Orlando next summer.
