Women's Tennis Ends Regular Season Against SFA

NACOGDOCHES, TX. – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team concluded the 2026 regular season with a 4-3 loss to Southland Conference foe Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday from the Schlief Tennis Complex.

Incarnate Word ends the season 6-10 overall with a 5-4 SLC record, while Stephen F. Austin finishes 8-8 with a 6-3 conference mark.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Stephen F. Austin opened with two wins in doubles play for an early 1-0 match lead. After SFA began with a win on court three, the senior duo of Estefania Gonzalez and Ine Lamprecht tallied a 6-4 victory at No. 1. A win by the Lumberjacks at No. 2 secured the doubles point.
  • Singles play opened with wins at Nos. 3 and 6 by Stephen F. Austin to build a 3-0 lead, before Incarnate Word rallied for a 7-5, 6-0 win by Gonzalez in the No. 1 singles flight.
  • The Lumberjacks earned the deciding point with a win at No. 4, while Lamprecht was a 4-6, 7-5, 10-6 winner on court two, and Victoria Jordana Salcedo Franklin won 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 at No. 5 to end the match.

Incarnate Word has secured a spot in the 2026 Southland Conference Championships, which begin on April 19 in Beaumont, Texas. UIW now awaits its seeding position and opponent as other programs finish off the regular season over the weekend.
