FRISCO, Texas – Incarnate Word's Alejandro Hernandez has won this week's Southland Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week award, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. The award is a first for Hernandez; however, he is the second UIW men's player to claim the honor this season.

In a pivotal conference match on Monday, Hernandez helped keep UIW perfect in SLC play with wins in both his singles and doubles matches against UTRGV. His 6-1, 6-7 (7-5), 6-0 win at No. 1 singles came against reigning Southland Player of the Year Sam Whitehead. 

The Cardinals continue conference play on Saturday, April 4, when the team travels to Beaumont, Texas, for an 11:00 a.m. match against Lamar University.
