FRISCO, Texas – UIW's Estefania Gonzalez and Emilio Vila have won this week's Southland Conference Tennis Players of the Week awards, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. 

Men's Player of the Week: Emilio Vila, UIW – Gr. — Jalisco, Mexico (Preparatoria Cuauhtemoc)
Vila won both his singles and doubles matches against UT Arlington and UTSA this past weekend, helping the Cardinals extend their winning streak to seven in a row. 

Women's Player of the Week: Estefania Gonzalez, McNeese –  Sr. – Caracas, Venezuela (Florida Virtual School)
González moved to 6-0 at the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles, helping the Cardinals with a big sweep of Lamar and their first conference win of the season.
