SAN MARCOS, TX. – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team fell by a 7-0 score to host Texas State University on Friday morning at the Bobcat Tennis Complex. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Texas State earned the first point of the match with back-to-back victories in doubles plays 
• In singles play, the Bobcats won all six contests in straight sets to complete the shutout.
• Senior Amelie Montalvo kept the score close at No. 4 despite a 6-3, 6-3 loss, and fellow senior Iné Lamprecht battled in the second set of her match at No. 2 before falling 6-4.

The Cardinals return home for a three-match home stand, beginning next Saturday, Feb. 28, when the team hosts Southeastern Louisiana University to open Southland Conference play. First serve from the Mabry Tennis Center is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
