SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team hits the road Thursday night to take on Houston Christian at Sharp Gymnasium. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

The Cardinals enter the matchup with an 8–8 overall record and a 6–3 mark in Southland Conference play following back-to-back home wins over East Texas A&M and Northwestern State.

Brynn Lusby leads the Cardinals offensively, averaging 10.8 points per game overall and 13.2 points per contest in conference play while shooting 53.5% from the field on the season.

Jorja Elliott continues to be a steady two-way presence for the Red and Black, averaging 10.1 points per game while leading the team in steals (23) and blocks (9).

Raimi McCrary anchors the paint for UIW, pacing the team with 7.8 rebounds per game overall and 8.0 rebounds per game in conference action while adding 8.2 points per contest on the season.

Madison Cockrell directs the Cardinal offense, leading the team with 42 assists overall and averaging 10.7 points per game in Southland play.

Scouting the Huskies

Houston Christian enters Thursday's matchup with a 5–11 overall record and a 3–6 mark in Southland Conference play. The Huskies are 4–2 at home this season.

Kamryn McLaurin leads HCU in scoring, averaging 13.2 points per game overall and 14.8 points per contest in conference play while shooting 48.9% from the field.

Grace Booth controls the glass for the Huskies, averaging 7.3 rebounds per game overall and 6.1 rebounds per contest in league action, while also contributing 11.0 points per game on the season.

Houston Christian averages 63.2 points per game and ranks among the conference leaders in steals, forcing over 20 turnovers per game.
