SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team is set to host Houston Christian at the McDermott Center to kick off 2026. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

• The Cardinals enter the matchup in a five-way tie for the best record in the Southland Conference. UIW enters Saturday at 5–6 overall and 3–1 in SLC play after defeating the Lady Lions at home on Wednesday. 

• Jorja Elliott, UIW's leading scorer from a season ago, continues to pace the Cardinals offensively, averaging 11.3 points per game. Elliott also leads the team in both blocks and steals.  

• Raimi McCrary, the Cardinals' top rebounder last season, anchors the paint this year, leading the team with 8.5 rebounds per game. McCrary is also second on the team in points scored averaging 10.3 per game. 

• Madison Cockrell directs the offense for the Red and Black, leading the team with 30 total assists and averaging 3.8 assists per contest. 

 Scouting the Huskies 

• Houston Christian enters Saturday's matchup with a 4–7 overall record and a 2–2 mark in Southland Conference play. 

• Kamryn McLaurin leads the Huskies in scoring at 13.2 points per game.  

• Grace Booth is HCU's leading rebounder, averaging 8.6 boards per game, while also leading the team with 28 assists and averaging 2.5 assists per game.
