SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team wraps up its 14-match road swing this Saturday in Commerce. The Cardinals will face the Lions at 1 p.m. inside the Field House.

• UIW is coming off a grueling non-conference slate that featured five Power Four opponents, including a pair of nationally ranked top-25 programs.  

• Sophomore setter Calissa Allison has been the heartbeat of the Cardinals, impacting every phase of the game. She ranks among the team's top five in kills, points, digs, blocks, service aces, and assists, and was recognized as Southland Conference (SLC) Setter of the Week after her standout showing at the BYU Nike Invitational. 

• Seniors Kyla Malone and Finley Evans power the attack, sitting first and second on the team in kills, while senior middle blocker Kade Thomas anchors the defense. Thomas not only leads the Cardinals in blocks this season but also etched her name in the record books by setting the program's Division I career blocks record. 

• Adding even more firepower, newcomer Kitana Tu'ufuli was named SLC Offensive Player of the Week last weekend after posting double-digit kills in all three matches at the Red Raider Classic. 

Scouting the Lions 

• The Lions enter the weekend 2-10 (0-1 SLC) after dropping their conference opener against HCU. 

• Freshman libero Washington enters Thursday as the leader in NCAA Division I with an average of 6.08 digs per set. She was also the first player in NCAA Division I to record 40 or more digs in a match, picking up 40 in the win over Lindenwood.   

• Through 11 matches this season, Gracie Campbell (Klein Oak) has an average of 11.46 attacks per set, which puts her first in the Southland Conference and 25th in Division I.
