SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team will travel to Lubbock for the Red Raider Classic this upcoming weekend. The Cardinals begin play against Ole Miss on Friday at 9:30 a.m. Later in the day, the Red and Black will take on the University at Albany at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, UIW will close out the tournament, taking on the host Texas Tech at 12 p.m. All matches will be played at the United Supermarkets Arena.

• UIW is coming off a historic 2024 campaign, posting 17 overall wins and 10 conference victories—both program records since moving to Division I in 2013. The Cardinals enter the weekend 3-3 following last week's BYU Nike Invitational.  

• Calissa Allison earned First Team All-Conference honors after leading the Cardinals in kills, points, and service aces. 

• The Cardinals return 12 players, including six starters from last season's conference tournament run. 

• Last weekend, Calissa Allison and Kade Thomas were named to the Texas State Tournament All-Tournament team. 

Scouting the Rebels 

• Junior Gabi Placide has made an immediate impact since coming to Oxford, ranking fourth in the SEC with 123 kills and fourth in the SEC in points with 145.0 through the first few weeks of the season. 

• The Rebel freshmen and redshirt freshmen have stepped up in their first collegiate action, accounting for 140 of the team's 369 kills (37.9 percent). 

Scouting the Great Danes 

• UAlbany enters the tournament 5-4. 

• Shynelle Woroniuk leads the Great Danes in points and kills.  

Scouting the Red Raiders 

• Reagan Engler has taken a big step up this season, currently leading the team in kills, points and double-doubles.  

• Sierra Grizzle ranks 1st in the Big 12 for digs per set (4.65) and total digs (172).
