SAN ANTONIO - The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team tied with the University of Pittsburgh on Sept. 15 on the Panthers' home turf. Today marks the Cardinals' 11-day stretch of rest to prepare for their first conference game against Houston Christian University on Sept. 26.

Last night's match of the Cardinals versus the Panthers was an even defensive battle. Going into Monday's game, the Panthers were ranked #21 in weekly polls.

Collectively, both teams created 21 shots, with six of them on target. Alejandro De La Torre has recorded 39 saves in eight games, ranking first in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) with an 89% save rate. 

The Cardinals have the second most wins in the OVC with a 4-2-2 record, and currently are tied at the top of the leaderboard for most shutouts this season with four.
