LAKE CHARLES, La – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team has will play in the Southland Conference Tournament for the first time since 2022 on Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. CT against Southeastern Louisiana.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
- Sam Hines Jr. was not only named to the SLC first team but also newcomer of the year, averaging 16.4 ppg and 6.4 rebounds. He was one of less than 10 players to score 10 points in each of his team's games this season.
- Jakevion Buckley got it done on both ends this season being named to the Southland Conference first team and all-defensive team.
- Jeremey Elzie was named the SLC Freshman of the Year averaging 10.3 ppg on 50 percent shooting.
