UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Sophomore UIW fencer Yassin Khodir competed in the 2025 NCAA Fencing Championships at the Penn State Multi-Sport Facility. Khodir competed on Thursday and Friday, finishing in 6th place out of 24 in saber. 

With his 6th place finish, Khodir produced the second best results a fencer has ever achieved at UIW. After two days of competition, the African junior sabre champion had a record of 14 wins and 8 losses. Despite being the only fencer representing the Cardinals, UIW finsihed 16th out of 26 teams. Khodir will be named second-team All-American as a result of this competition.
