SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word football team announced the full 2025 schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Cardinals will look to defend their 2024 Southland Conference championship starting with a week zero matchup with Nicholls on August 23. The Cardinals will face a host of typical SLC opponents along with the newest members of the Southland, UTRGV when UIW travels to Edinburg, Texas on October 25 to face the Vaqueros.
 
In 2025 the Cardinals have two non-conference games against out of state competition. First, the Cardinals will host the Eastern Washington Eagles in the first home game of the season. Two weeks later, UIW will travel to Flagstaff for the second matchup with Northern Arizona in two years. Last season, the Cardinals took down the Lumberjacks 38-14 in San Antonio.
 
UIW will also take on a former Southland member in Abilene Christian. The Cardinals have been victorious in the last three matchups with ACU, with the most recent being in 2023 when UIW narrowly beat the Wildcats 27-20.
 
To round out the 2025 schedule, UIW is set to compete in the Hometown Showdown against UTSA at the Alamodome on September 13.
