SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team is set to visit Northwestern State University and East Texas A&M University in their final regular season games. On Thursday, February 27 NWST and UIW tip off at 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday, March 1 the Lions and Cardinals tip off at 12:00 p.m.  
 
UIW 

The Cardinals are in sixth place in the league standings with a 10-8 conference record after dropping both conference matches last week.   

UIW is fourth in the conference with its 41 percent field goal percentage, knocking down 614 shots as a team. 

Jorja Elliott continues to lead the Cardinals in scoring, averaging 9.8 points per contest, scoring in double figures in 14 games with a season-high 22 points against Northwestern State to earn herself SLC Player of the Week. 

Forward Raimi McCrary is the leading rebounder, pulling down 5.6 per game. She's tallied 10-plus rebounds in five games this season, including two double-doubles.  

THE LAST TIME THEY MET  

The Cardinals defeated NWST earlier this season. In December the Cardinals defeated the Lady Demons 48-46 at home. The Red and Black are currently on a 12-game winning streak against NWST.    

The Cardinals defeated the Lions earlier this season 76-55 at home. The Lions enter the contest on a four-game losing streak.   

SCOUTING THE LADY DEMONS 

NWST enters the contest 13-3 and is in fifth place in the conference standings. 

Myra Blake leads the Lady Demons in points averaging 17.7 per game.  

Blake also leads the team in assists, averaging 4.0 per game.  

SCOUTING THE LIONS 

The Lions enter the contest on a 4-game losing streak after losing last week's matchups against UNO and SLU. 

ETAMU sits in tenth place in the conference standings with a 6-20 (3-14) record. 

Jordyn Newsome leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.0 points per game.
