SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team will compete against Jarvis Christian University for its first home game inside the McDermott Center on Friday, Nov. 7, at 1:00 p.m. CT. The Cardinals will follow this up with a game against Southwestern Christian on Tuesday evening.

- Two Cardinal players scored over 20 points in the season opener against Colorado State University–Tahj Staveskie and Davion Bailey. Staveskie put up 27 points in his first 37 minutes as a Cardinal, shooting at an efficient clip (56% FG) and collecting three steals.
- Bailey returns to the Cardinals for his second season, scoring 20 points and grabbing six rebounds. This is his 13th game with 20 or more points since 2024.
- Jayden Williams ended the game with five points, two rebounds and a steal playing in only 10 minutes off the bench.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
- Jarvis Christian University is coming off a two game win streak against teams in the Red River Conference. The 2-1 Bulldogs are an NAIA team, and Friday's match against the Cardinals is their first of four games against NCAA teams.
- Aboubacar Cisse leads the Bulldogs in points (15.7) while shooting 50% from behind the arc.
- Forward Iversyn Smith is a defensive anchor for the Bulldogs, averaging three steals, three blocks and 12 boards this season.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
- The Eagles won their first game of the season in a high scoring 70-67 game.
- 10 different players scored for Southwestern Christian, led by Michal Wooldridge who had 18.
- He was one rebound shy of a double-double, grabbing 10 rebounds.
