Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season with HCU Home-and-Home Series

SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team is set to wrap up the 2025 regular season with a home-and-home series against Houston Christian University. The Cardinals will first host the Huskies on Wednesday evening at the McDermott Center, with first serve scheduled for 6 p.m., before traveling to the Sharp Gym in Houston on Saturday for a 1 p.m. matchup to close out the regular season.

UIW enters the final week of play riding strong momentum after a record-breaking conference campaign, highlighted by historic individual and team performances. With postseason positioning on the line, the Cardinals look to carry their winning rhythm into the final stretch and continue building on what has been their most successful Southland Conference season in Division I history.

How to Follow Along

UIW

  • The Red and Black made history on Saturday, completing the regular season sweep of Texas A&M–Corpus Christi for the first time in program history. The milestone victory also marked the Cardinals' 10th Southland Conference win of the season, the most since the program's transition to Division I in 2013.

  • Sophomore setter Calissa Allison has been the heartbeat of the Cardinals, making her presence felt in every phase of the game. She stands alone among all NCAA Division I players this season as the only student-athlete to total at least 730 assists, 330 digs, 130 kills, and 30 aces.

  • The Cardinals head into the final week of the regular season at 14–12 overall and 10–4 in Southland Conference action, currently locked in a three-way battle for third place as postseason play approaches.

Scouting the Huskies

  • Allana Archie leads the team in kills with 267 and in blocks with 65.0. Archie also is third on the team in service aces.

  • Peyton Fadal leads the team in assists with 695 on the season. Fadal is also top five on the team in digs and service aces.

  • HCU enters the week with a 12-15 overall record and 7-7 in Southland Conference play. The Huskies are currently tied with ETAMU with the sixth best record in the conference.
