SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team is set to host the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) on Thursday, October 9, at the McDermott Center. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.

• UIW is off to its best start in conference history, entering the week 4-0 in SLC play. 

• Sophomore setter Calissa Allison has been the heartbeat of the Cardinals, impacting every phase of the game. She ranks among the team's top five in kills, points, digs, blocks, service aces, and assists.  

• Seniors Finley Evans and Kyla Malone power the attack, sitting first and second on the team in kills, while senior middle blocker Kade Thomas and freshman libero Ashton Rogers anchor the defense.   

• The Cardinals enter Thursday's matchup with an 8-8 overall record and a perfect 4-0 mark in Southland Conference play, sitting in third place in the league standings.  

Scouting the Vaqueros 

• Entering the week, Dimitra Nanou leads the Vaqueros with 128 kills and ranks second on the team with 18 service aces. 

• Isabella Constantini leads the Vaqueros in both assists and service aces, while ranking second on the team in digs. 

• The Vaqueros enter Thursday's matchup with an 8-7 overall record and a 3-1 record in Southland Conference play.
