Football to Honor Breast Cancer Awareness and Educators in Annual Pink Out Game

SAN ANTONIO- The University of the Incarnate Word football team honors local heroes at this Saturday's home football game against Stephen F. Austin.

Pink Out Game
According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 1 in 8 women in the US (13.1%) will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Pink Out is an event to honor those affected by cancer, where players, coaches, and fans are encouraged to wear pink to raise awareness about the disease.

It's worth noting UIW has never lost a Pink Out game in the program's history. The Cardinals look to continue honoring our local heroes who are survivors or fighting against cancer and carry on the Pink Out win streak against Stephen F. Austin on Saturday.

The first 500 fans will receive a free Pink Out T-shirt before the game begins at 6:00 p.m. at Benson Stadium.

Educator Appreciation
When local heroes come to mind, many overlook some of our neighbors in the San Antonio community, such as public educators. Teachers help build strong foundations in the youth and guide students towards a brighter future.

UIW offered a discounted ticket rate for educators in all local ISDs.
