SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team continues Southland Conference play this week with a pair of matchups. The Cardinals will host McNeese State on Thursday at 7 p.m. CT at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium before heading south for an 11 a.m. road clash with UTRGV on Sunday. UIW enters the week at 3-3-3 overall and 1-0-2 in conference action after battling East Texas A&M to a draw over the weekend.

• Junior Alex Knutson and freshman Atiana Lara pace the Red and Black attack, each tallying three goals and six points on the season. 

• On the defensive end, Taylor Kish has been a steady presence, logging 776 of 810 possible minutes while also contributing a goal and an assist. 

• In goal, Hannah Alexander has anchored the back line with 38 saves, playing every minute of UIW's nine matches. 

Scouting the Cowgirls 

• Last week the Cowgirls picked up their first conference win against Nicholls State to bring their SLC record to 1-1-1 through two weeks. 

• Rhiannon Maynes-Tourond is the Cowgirls' point leader with ten on the season 

• The Cowgirls enter the week with a 2-7-3 overall record (1-1-1 SLC). 

Scouting the Vaqueros 

• Lisa Elowsson is the Vaqueros point leader with 11 on the season. She has five goals and one assist. 

• The Vaqueros enter the week with a 3-7-1 overall record (0-3 SLC).
