Box Score 2 SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team split their games this week. Earning a win against Our Lady of the Lake University 4-0 and then falling to SMU 2-0 Monday night.
In the first game of the week the Cardinals had a breakthrough game, taking down Our Lady of the Lake University 4-0 earning their second win of the season. Four different Cardinals scored in the match.

Miles Merritt started things off finding the back of the net off an assist from Emmanuel Martinez. 10 minutes later
Peleg Armendariz gave the Cards a little cushion scoring his first goal of the season.
UIW held on to the lead through the first half and came out of the locker room firing once again as
Diego Robles scored his first collegiate career goal pushing the Cardinal lead to 3-0. UIW put a bow on things when
Erick Rios scored the final goal of the game with just five second left in the game.
In the second game of the week the Cardinals took on the Mustangs in Dallas. UIW gave up a goal late in the first half and another after SMU was awarded a penalty kick in the 80
th minute of the game. UIW fell by a final score of 2-0.
The Cardinals will be back in action Saturday, kicking off Ohio Valley Conference play against Houston Christiaan University at 7 p.m. CT.
