SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's volleyball team heads to Lake Charles for the Cowgirl Classic. On Friday, the Cardinals take on FAMU at 1:00 p.m. and McNeese in a non-conference matchup at 6:30 p.m.   

UIW  

• After dropping its first matchup of the season the Cardinals have gone on a five-game winning streak.  

• Risa Sena leads the Cardinals in kills with 78, while hitting .274 percent meanwhile Kade Thomas and Teyhlor Thomas lead the team with 22 blocks. 

• Calissa Allison is in the top five in kills (51), assists (118), aces (7), and digs (73) for UIW. 

• UIW was selected to finish eighth in the Southland Conference preseason poll but sits in first place.  

Scouting the Rattlers 

• FAMU is 5-2 to open the 2024 season after finishing 3-0 in the FAMU Tournament. 

• Brooklyne Thomas leads the Rattlers in kills with 85. 

• The Rattlers were selected to finish first in the SWAC preseason poll and sit in first place.  

Scouting the Cowgirls 

• McNeese started its 2024 campaign 2-4 after dropping its last two matches. 

• McKenzie Moore leads the team in kills with 69. 

• The Cowgirls were selected to finish sixth in the SLC preseason poll but sit in tenth.
