HUNTSVILLE – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team used a late goal to tie Sam Houston 1-1 at Pritchett Field Thursday night.

In the first half, Sam Houston's Pam Murray buried a penalty kick to take the lead. The Bearkats outshot the Cardinals 6-2 and led 1-0 at the break.

In the second half, the Cardinals turned up the pressure, outshooting the Bearkats 8-1 and getting four corner kicks. UIW eventually capitalized on one of the corners as junior Sinead Duffy whipped in a ball that sophomore Alex Knutson headed into the top right corner in the 84th minute.
