SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team travels to Huntsville on Thursday, August 29 to take on Sam Houston at 7:30 p.m. 

UIW 

• The Cardinals are 1-2-1 following a 3-0 win over PVAMU and a 4-0 loss to Texas State. 

• Three players; Peri Olmo, Sierra Wannamaker and Janaya Doane scored their first goals of the season Thursday at PVAMU 

• Graduate Student Faith Davies made her UIW debut Thursday at PVAMU and recorded five saves. Sophomore Erica Defferding has made 19 saves in three starts. 

Scouting the Bearkats 

• Sam Houston has a 2-1-1 record on the season and is coming off a 2-1 loss to Texas A&M Corpus Christi Sunday.  

• The Bearkats were picked to finish fifth in the Conference USA preseason poll and finished with a 6-7-4 record last season.  

• Senior Landri Townsend leads the team with three goals and two assists on the year.
