SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team lost to the Northwestern State Demons 61-81 on Saturday night in the McDermott Center.
Alex Anderson was the lone Cardinal to score in double digits with 20 on the night.
The first half was a battle on both ends.
Shon Robinson made his return to action off the bench and made key back-to-back plays, a block on one and end knocking down a 3-pointer on the other end to tie the game at 11.
Alex Anderson showed up to the party to keep the Cardinals in the game down the stretch of the second half scoring six straight points for the Cardinals. The two teams went into the break knotted up at 34.
Seven minutes into the second half it was a three-point game, UIW trailed 48-51. The Cardinals went cold, and the Demons began to heat up going on a 22-2 run and take control of the game.
In the end the Cardinals fell by a final score of 61-81.
