SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team will play their first conference games of the 2024-25 season this week. Things get started when the Northwestern State Demons come into town to take on the Cardinals at 7 p.m. CT. UIW will then take on the East Texas A&M Lions at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

- After splitting their games at the Jaguar Classic, the Cardinals head into the first part of conference play with a 4-3 record.
- Jordan Pyke currently has a 72.22 field goal percentage which is sixth in the NCAA.

SCOUTING THE DEMONS
- Northwestern State has faced several tough opponents this season, traveling to take on Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and LSU.
- As the Demons enter the season with only four returning players, eight student-athletes have never played in a Southland Conference game.
- Northwestern State has won the last eight games against the Cardinals.
SCOUTING THE LIONS
- The Lions lone win of the season so far was a two-point victory over Southern.
- After playing in six states through in the first seven games East Texas A&M will play two consecutive road games in Texas. First against HCU and then at UIW.
- The Lions have won two of the last three SLC openers.
