SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team closes out 2024 by hosting Our Lady of the Lake University on Sunday, December 29 at 1 p.m. at the McDermott Convocation Center.

UIW

• The Cardinals are on a three-game win streak, starting Southland Conference play 2-0 and defeating non-conference foe Schreiner, for an overall record of 6-4.
• Jorja Elliott and Brynn Lusby lead the scoring charge with 10 points per game for UIW. Elliott has made 15 3-pointers this season, shooting 41 percent from beyond the arch.
• As the third leading scorer (8.5), Raimi McCrary pulls down 6.5 boards per contest to lead the Cardinals in rebounding. The 6-foot forward also leads the team in steals with 14.

THE LAST TIME THEY MET

• The Cardinals are 3-2 all-time over the Saints, following a 68-40 victory last season on November 7, 2023.

SCOUTING THE SAINTS

• OLLU is 6-7 overall and 4-6 within the Red River Athletic Conference. The Saints are currently on a three-game losing streak, falling to Texas A&M University – San Antonio (83-64), LSU Shreveport (71-45) and LSU Alexandria (72-56).
• Julia Plata is averaging 16.8 points per game for OLLU, shooting 43 percent from field goal range, 41 percent from 3-point range and 80 percent from the free throw line. She put up a season-high 25 points at Texas College.
• Carlea Owens adds 12.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest for the Saints. She's tallied four double-doubles so far this season.
