Women's Soccer's Season Comes to an End in SLC Quarterfinals

Corpus Christi – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team fell to Texas A&M – Commerce 2-1 Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the Southland Conference Tournament in Corpus Christi.

The Cardinals finish the season 8-8-3 with a 5-4-1 mark in SLC play. This was the first time UIW had qualified for the postseason since the 2021 season.

The Lions struck first with a header from Kristen Sueltz off a corner in the 24th minute. SLC player of the year Kaydence Ramirez extended the lead following a tap in on a bouncing ball in the 18-yard box.

In the second half, the Cardinals picked up the pressure and Zara Dominguez got one back in the 74th minute. UIW developed a few more chances in the closing minutes, but could not break through.
