Volleyball Back on the Road Before Returning Home for Final Home Game

SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's volleyball team goes on the road for two midweek matchups, before returning home for the Cardinals final home game of the season. UIW travels to HCU for a Tuesday night matchup at 6:30 p.m. The Cardinals then travel to Northwestern State to take on the Demons on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday afternoon the Cardinals celebrate its seniors on senior day at the McDermott Center. UIW will take on Texas A&M Commerce at noon for its final home game of the season.     

How to Follow Along 

UIW  

  • The Cardinals are 14-7 (7-4) after extending its winning streak to five games following a historic win over the Islanders on Saturday afternoon. 

  • Allison also leads UIW in aces (19) and has the second most digs (223) and assists (386) on the team. She is also tied for second in the nation in triple-doubles with eight after picking up two last week. 

  • UIW was selected to finish eighth in the Southland Conference preseason poll and sits in fifth place.  

Scouting the Huskies 

  • HCU enters the week 8-14 (5-6) on the year after going 1-1 last week.  

  • Audrey Pearce leads the Huskies in kills with 253. Pearce also leads the team in blocks with 102.   

  • Earlier in the season the Huskies visited the Cardinals and fell 3-2 in a five-set thriller. 

  • HCU sits in sixth place in the conference standings with a 5-6 conference record.  

Scouting the Demons 

  • Northwestern State enters the week 7-13 (2-9) on the year after going 1-1 last week. 

  • Reaghan Thompson leads the Demons in kills with 239. Thompson also has the second most digs (234) and the third most aces on the team (15).  

  • Northwestern State sits in tenth place in the conference standings with a 2-9 conference record.  

Scouting the Lions 

  • Texas A&M Commerce enters the week 8-15 (5-6) on the year after picking up a win over Nicholls. 

  • Kitana Tuufuli leads the Lions in kills with 236. Tuufuli is also top five in blocks with 27. 

  • Texas A&M Commerce sits in seventh place in the conference standings with a 5-6 conference record.
