SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team will hit the road this week, heading north for games against Eastern Illinois on Thursday at 4 p.m. CT and against Southern Indiana on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.

	- The Cardinals earned their first Ohio Valley Conference win of the season over Western Illinois.
 
	- Diego Robles was named an OVC notable performer after scoring the game tying goal and following that up with sending in the cross for the game winning goal.
 
	- UIW will look to reignite the offense against taking on two opponents who the Cardinals scored a combined nine goals against last season.
 
 
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
 
	- Sam Eccles currently leads the Panthers offensive efforts, sitting at the top of the list in goals, assists, and points for the 2024 season.
 
	- Eccles was also named as EIU's Ohio Valley Conference preseason player to watch after a strong 2023 campaign.
 
	- The Cardinals have faced off two times with UIW taking both matchups, most recently in the OVC semifinal where the Cardinals took down EIU 1-0.
 
 
SCOUTING THE SCREAMING EAGLES
 
	- Sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Klott posted a career-high with 12 saves in the loss to SIUE.
 
	- Freshman midfielder Ahiro Nakamae is tied for sixth in the OVC overall with three goals scored and tied for ninth in total points with seven.
 
	- After winning two games in a row the USI dropped their last two OVC games. 2-0 to Lindenwood and SIUE.
