SAN ANTONIO - The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team will head to Louisiana for a pair of matches. The Cardinals will face Nicholls on Friday, October 4th at 7 p.m. and McNeese State on Sunday October 6th at 1 p.m.  

UIW 

• The Cardinals are 3-5-2 and 0-2 in Southland play following a 1-0 loss to Southeastern Louisiana and and a 2-1 loss to Northwestern State.  

• Sophomore Alex Knutson and freshman Peri Olmo lead the Cardinals in goals with two apiece and junior Sinead Duffy leads the squad in assists with two. 

• Sophomore Erica Defferding has recorded 45 saves in nine starts in net.  

Scouting the Colonels 

• Nicholls is 2-6-1 and 0-3 in Southland play after dropping a 4-0 decision to Lamar on September 29th.  

• The Colonels were picked to finish in 11th in the Southland preseason poll.  

• Graduate student Koryn Barrett leads the squad with four goals and eight points.  

• Goalkeeper Megan Cook has 40 saves in nine starts. 

Scouting the Cowgirls 

• McNeese is 3-8-1 and have an 0-2-1 mark in SLC play following a 2-2 tie to UTRGV. 

• McNeese was picked to finish third in Southland preseason poll after a 9-8-4 2023 campaign. 

• Senior Isabelle Smith leads the team with six points and has two goals and two assists on the year.  

• Jackie Kelly has made 75 saves in 12 starts.
