Box Score SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team won its first Southland Conference game of the season, 79-75, against Houston Christian University on Saturday night.
UIW started the game strong on the offensive end, led by
Alex Anderson who had 12 first-half points. Eight different Cardinals combined to score the most points in the first 20 minutes of the game since SLC play began for UIW, 37.
The Huskies were able to take back the lead early in the second and hold on to it for the majority of the half. With just over three minutes remaining, trailing 70-66, the Cardinals went on a 10-0 scoring run. The two teams traded free throws and
Marcus Glover sealed the 79-75 win with a dunk.
