SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team is back at home this week. The Cardinals first match of the will be against Santa Clara University Thursday night at 7 p.m. On Sunday UIW will take on Oral Roberts at 11 a.m. on Sunday in the red out game. The first 50 students at the game will receive a free red t-shirt.
UIW
- The Cardinals are looking to bounce back from two loses last week against UTRGV and Cal State Fullerton.
- UIW has given time to two goalkeepers, Hugo Constant and Alejandro De La Torre, so far this season.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS
- The Broncos have struggled out of the gates losing their first three games of the season.
- Santa Clara has had three different goal scorers this season. Caden Buckley leads the way with two goals scored in the Broncos first game against number 17 ranked Georgetown.
- Felix Schaefer started and played all a full 90 minutes in all of the Bronco's games this season and has made eight saves.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
- The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series against the Cards with a 3-9-1 record.
- ORU is 3-1 so far this season, most recently the Golden Eagles have a 1-0 loss to number 11 SMU and a 1-0 against number 23 Tulsa.
- Forward Luis Flores and goalkeeper Jakub Grzesiak earned the TicketSmarter Summit League Men's Soccer Peak Performer of the Week offensive and defensive awards.
