Men’s Soccer Starts Inaugural OVC Season

SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team will open Ohio Valley Conference play for the first time on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. CT in Gayle & Tom Benson Stadium against Houston Christian University. On Sunday the team will travel to Illinois to take on Chicago State at 1 p.m. CT.

The Cardinals are coming off of a big 4-2 win over Gonzaga on Sunday.
Hugo Constant was named OVC goalkeeper of the week after making five saves in two games.
This will be UIW's first Ohio Valley Conference game against a familiar opponent in HCU. The Cardinals lead the all-time series with a 10-6-1 record.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES

D'Alessandro Herrera and Ryan Okerayi are leading the Huskies with three goals on the season.
The HCU defense has only allowed seven goals through six games this season.
Ricardo Garcia leads the team in assists with three and added a goal against Grand Canyon.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS

Chicago State 2-5-1 record this season.
The Cougars are on a four-game losing streak, with the latest lose being to UIC 2-1.
Seven different student-athletes have scored, they are led by Danail Sergiev who has three so far.
