SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team hosts reigning Southland Conference champions Lamar University on Sunday, September 17 at 1 p.m. at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium with free admission.

• The Cardinals are 3-2-1 entering conference play. Last week, UIW dropped its first home game against Sam Houston State, 1-0. Goalkeeper Erica Defferding totaled six saves in the loss.  

• Forwards Sierra Wannamaker and Addison Rodriguez led the Cardinals in goals with two each. Forward, Meredith Caviglia leads the Cardinals in assists with two. 

• Goalkeeper Erica Defferding has made 13 saves in her three starts entering the matchup against Lamar. 

Scouting the Cardinals 

• Lamar is 4-2-1 this season and sits at the top of the SLC standings, just above UIW.  

• Hollie Massey leads the Cardinals with three goals. Lamar has two players with two assists each to lead the team.  

• Goalkeeper Nicole Panis has started every game for the Cardinals totaling 13 saves entering the week.
