SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word football team ends its three-game road tour at Abilene Christian University (ACU) on Saturday, September 16 p.m. for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

UIW
- After a 42-7 win over the University of Northern Colorado, UIW moved up to No. 9 in the FCS Coaches Poll and remained at No. 10 in the FCS Stats Perform Poll.
- UIW and Houston Christian are the top two teams in the Southland Conference after week two with a 1-1 record.
- The Cardinals doubled their total offense from last week with 617 total yards from scrimmage.
- Five different Cardinals - Zack Calzada, Timothy Carter, Tre Siggers, Caleb Chapman, and Marquez Perez - all made it to the endzone last week.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
- ACU quarterback Maverick Mclovr has been a standout for the Wildcats, he leads the FCS in passing efficiency with a 207.6 rating, averaging 265 passing yards per game with a 65 percent completion percentage.
- The Wildcat offensive line has not allowed a sack yet this season and has set up ACU to average 5.5 rushing yards per carry.
- ACU is sixth in the FCS with 18 tackles for loss through the first two games of the season.
LAST TIME THEY MET
- The Cardinals have a 4-7 record against the Wildcats, but UIW has won the last two matchups.
- UIW and ACU have already played similar opponents this season. ACU took down Northern Colorado in its first game of the season 31-11.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
- Zach Calzada, after throwing for close to 400 yards and 3 touchdowns in the game against Northern Colorado, was named the SLC Offensive Player of the Week. The UNC game marked Calzada's first career 300-plus passing yards game. He also earned FCS Nationals Offensive Player of the Week honorable mention.
- Junior linebacker, Tylan Foster, led the defense with 11 total tackles, three solo, and one tackle for loss last week. He's second in the conference with 10 tackles per game. Foster came to UIW from the College of the Canyons and is earning valuable minutes for the Cardinals.
- Caleb Chapman racked up 116 receiving yards and two touchdowns on only five catches against the Bears last week.
- Steven Parker was named the SLC Defensive Player of the Week following an impressive outing against the Bears. Parker tallied six total tackles, four tackles for loss on 26 yards, and 1.5 sacks on 15 yards. He also added one forced fumble and one breakup. He also earned FCS Nationals Offensive Player of the Week honorable mention.
- Brandon Porter is first in the conference for yards per game with 59.69 and second in receptions per game with 3.85.
- Punter Ben D'Aquila is leading the conference with his 47.56 punting average.
