SAN ANTONIO — The University of the Incarnate Word football team had three former student-athletes, Chris Whittaker, Darion Chafin, and Lindsey Scott Jr., drafted in the 2023 XFL Rookie Draft.
 
All three of these players have had different journeys to this point, for some this is the second chance at playing at the professional level, while others are getting their first opportunity to make it in the pros.
 
Chris Whittaker

• Drafted by the Arlington Renegades
• Participated in the Denver Broncos minicamp

 
Darion Chafin

• Drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks

 
Lindsey Scott Jr.

• Drafted by the Houston Roughnecks
• Participated in both the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers minicamps
• Drafted second overall by the Pittsburg Maulers in the USFL Draft
