SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team is set to face Southeastern Louisiana University and the University of New Orleans for the second time this season. The Cardinals travel to Louisiana to face the Lions on Thursday at 5 p.m. and the Privateers at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
THE LAST TIME THEY MET
- The Cardinals defeated SLU, 55-49, last month on Jan. 14 at the McDermott Center.
- In that same week, UIW took down UNO, 61-55, to pick up the first Southland Conference wins of the season.
UIW
- The Cardinals are coming off a 70-62 victory over Nicholls last Saturday to bring their Southland Conference record to 3-6.
- UIW is 8-3 at home this season but has yet to pick up a road win.
- Destiny Terrell had a monster game against the Colonels, finishing with a career-high 25 points and 10 rebounds for her first double-double this year.
- Leading scorer, Nina De Leon Negron added 23 points to bring her season average to 11.5 points per contest.
LIONS
- Southeastern Louisiana is 6-3 in SLC play, losing to UIW, Lamar, and New Orleans.
- Alexius Horne (12.7) and Hailey Giaratano (11.6) are the two leading scorers for the Lions.
- Natalie Kelly (7.9) and Chrissy Brown (6.8) lead the team in rebounds.
PRIVATEERS
- UNO is tied with UIW in the conference rankings, also holding a 3-6 record in SLC play.
- The Privateers have finished 4-3 at home and 0-11 on the road.
- DeArica Pryor is putting up 13.7 points per contest, while Nora Francois is adding 5.8 rebounds.
