Box Score Men's Soccer Earns Spot in OVC Final
 
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team defeated Eastern Illinois 1-0 on Wednesday night, advancing to the first ever Ohio Valley Conference men's soccer championship game.
 
The Cardinals took an aggressive approach to this game, dominating possession in the first half. That aggression paid off in the forty-first minute when Will Ansah found Sello Diphoko for the goal. This was Diphoko's eighth goal of the season, tying him for most goals in the conference.
 
UIW kept the pressure on through the second half. The Cardinals had double the number of shots than the Cougars with 22 and more than double the shots on goal (12-5).
 
After 90 minutes of soccer UIW maintained their 1-0 lead and secured a spot in the final match on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT.
