Box Score TULSA, Okla. – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team fell to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 84-71 Saturday afternoon.
The Cardinals controlled the game early, holding the lead for the majority of the first half behind some big baskets by
Josiah Hammons.
Late in the half Tulsa went on a 9-0 run to retake the lead, 24-20. The two teams continued to battle, both grabbing 24 rebounds and making five assists in the half.
Josiah Hammons led all scorers with 11 points and
Shon Robinson was dominating the boards with nine rebounds, but the Cards trailed 34-31 heading into the break.
Tulsa came out of the locker room shooting from deep, knocking down five 3-pointers in the first eight minutes of the second half and extending their lead. They were able to hold onto that lead for the remainder of the game, taking the win 85-71.
