SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team dropped its final game to Houston Christian University, 2-0, on Friday, October 27.
The Cardinals entered the second half in a 0-0 draw. In the 47th minute the Huskies scored to give them a 1-0 lead. Later in the 58th minute HCU extended the lead to 2-0.
The Cardinals poured on seven shots in the second half but were unable to convert.
Goalkeeper Erica Defferding finished the game with two saves, while facing 13 shots.
The Cardinals finished the season 6-8-2 in head coach Jake Plant's first season at UIW.
