SAN ANTONIO – Three runs in the fourth inning lifted the University of the Incarnate Word baseball team to a 6-2 victory over Northwestern State University (NSU) in game two of the three game series on Saturday night at Sullivan Field, sponsored by H-E-B. 

Wilson Ehrhardt led off the game with a solo home run (1-0), but the Demons hit back-to-back homers in the top of the fourth to take a 2-1 advantage. 

An off-the-wall triple from Alec Carr in the bottom of the fourth put him in scoring position. Then a double down the left field line from Nixon Brannon brought Carr across home plate to tie the game, 2-2. Taylor Darden hit a two-RBI single, and the Cardinals regained the lead (4-2).

UIW tacked two more runs to the board in the bottom of the fifth inning with RBI singles from Ridge Rogers and Nixon Brannan to take game two, 6-2.

First pitch for the series finale is set for Sunday, April 10, at 1 p.m. CT at Sullivan Field, sponsored by H-E-B.
