Softball Drops Game One Against McNeese

LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana – The University of the Incarnate Word softball team fell, 9-0, to McNeese State University in game one of its three-game series at Joe Miller Field at Cowgirl Diamond.

Ashley Trapp started the game for the Cardinals, tallying two strikeouts on the night. Annie Gunther and Natalie Myers then entered the circle for UIW to end the night. 

Ryleigh Mata, Abby Frank, and Savannah Behabetz registered the three hits for UIW.

After a tough fourth inning, McNeese secured its 9-0 victory for game one of the series. 

UP NEXT 

The Cardinals continue action in Lake Charles with a doubleheader against the Cowgirls at 1 p.m. CT and 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 30.
