SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team finishes its final Southland Conference (SLC) road stretch of the season at Houston Baptist University on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 5 p.m. CT and McNeese State University on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 1 p.m.
THE LAST TIME THEY MET
- The Cardinals are 2-13 against the Huskies with the last matchup on Jan. 20, 2022.
- UIW last saw McNeese on Jan. 22, 2022. The series is tied 5-5.
UIW
- The Cardinals are 9-13 overall and 5-6 in the SLC.
- UIW is coming off wins over Northwestern State and Southeastern Louisiana.
- Jaaucklyn Moore is sitting at No. 59 in Division I and No. 1 in the SLC in points per game with 17.9. Moore is the only student-athlete in the SLC to record 30 points in a single game and she has done it twice this season.
- Destiny Terrell is the second leading scorer with 7.7 points per contest and the top rebounder with 5.4 per game.
HBU
- The Huskies are 12-9 overall and 8-2 in the SLC. They are currently on a three-game win streak after defeating Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana and Nicholls.
- Timia Jefferson (12.7) and N'Denasijua Collins (10.9) lead the team in scoring.
- Collins is the top rebounder with 7.1 per game.
MCNEESE
- The Cowgirls are 11-13 overall and 6-5 in the SLC.
- Desirae Hansen (11) and Kaili Chamberlin (10.8) are averaging double figures for McNeese.
- Divine Tanks leads the team in rebounds with 7.5 per contest.
UP NEXT
The Cardinals host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday, March 5, at 2 p.m. for the final regular season game before the Southland Conference Tournament on March 10-13. The home finale will also be Senior Day for UIW.
