SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team lost to McNeese State University (MSU), 67-57, on Saturday afternoon at the McDermott Center.
Jaaucklyn Moore led UIW with 19 points, while
Destiny Terrell finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.
The Cardinals and Cowgirls battled through the first quarter, trading buckets until the end as MSU took a 21-17 advantage. UIW picked up five steals in the quarter and forced six Cowgirl turnovers. McNeese extended its lead in the second frame, but the Cardinals battled hard and cut MSU's advantage to 36-28 to end the half.
MSU opened the second half on an 11-0 run. With just over a minute left in the third quarter,
Myra Bell came up with a big steal and layup to cut the lead back down to 10 (50-40). The Cowgirls ended the third with a 53-42 advantage and ultimately took the game, 67-57.

The Cardinals travel to Louisiana to face Northwestern State University on Thursday, Jan. 27, at 5:30 p.m. CT and Southeastern Louisiana University on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m.
