SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team is set to host Houston Baptist University on Thursday, Jan. 20, at 5:30 p.m. CT and McNeese State University on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. Both Southland Conference (SLC) matchups will be held at the McDermott Center in a doubleheader with UIW men's basketball.
 
THE LAST TIME THEY MET

• The Cardinals and Huskies last met on March 3, 2021. UIW won, 68-59, for its second win in the series history.
• UIW last played McNeese on Feb. 8, 2021, when the Cardinals won 66-47. UIW leads the series history 5-4.

 
UIW

• The Cardinals are 4-8 on the season and 0-1 in SLC play after falling to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, on Jan. 15.
• Jaaucklyn Moore leads the team in scoring and sits at number one in points per game in the SLC for the sixth week in a row. She averages 16.3 PPG.
• The team is shooting 26 percent from the 3-point line, sitting at second in the SLC.
• Destiny Terrell leads UIW in rebounds with 4.3 per contest and in assists with 19 on the season.
• Tiana Gardner is the second leading scorer with 8.6 points per game and has stepped to the free throw line 49 times this season, shooting 71 percent from the charity line.

 
HBU

• The Huskies are 5-7 on the season and 1-0 in SLC play.
• Two student-athletes are averaging double figures for HBU. Timia Jefferson leads the team in scoring with 14.7 points per game. N'Denasija Collins contributes 12.5 points per contest and leads the team in rebounds with 8.3 per game.
• HBU is coming off an 82-74 victory over McNeese.

 
MSU

• The Cowgirls are 5-9 on the season and 0-1 in SLC play following the loss against HBU.
• Zuzanna Kulinska (9.7), Kaili Chamberlin (9.6) and Desirae Hansen (9.4) lead the team in scoring.
• Divine Tanks is the leading rebounder, averaging seven per contest.

The Cardinals travel to Louisiana to face Northwestern State University on Thursday, Jan. 27, at 5:30 p.m. and Southeastern Louisiana University on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m.
